Diabetes & Nutrition Center
Did you know that there are more than 29.1 million children and adults in the United States, or 9.3 percent of the population, who have diabetes? If left untreated or improperly managed, diabetes can result in a variety of complications, including: heart disease, kidney disease, eye disease and nerve damage.
Recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA), the education program provided at Randolph Health's Diabetes & Nutrition Center lasts for nine hours and is presented during three classes. The classes cover 10 core content areas required by the ADA and are taught by diabetes educators. Upon completion of the initial program, follow-up sessions are available.
Anyone with a doctor's referral is welcome to participate in the Diabetes Self-Management Program. Whether you want to better control your blood sugars, eat a healthier diet, avoid complications, or just need a diabetes "tune-up," the program will provide information and support you need to be successful. Those who are new to diabetes and those who have never received self-management training are especially encouraged to enroll. Family members are always welcome!
